Commissioned Portraits and Landscapes

(above) A commissioned painting of a client's view from their lake home.


The initial visit with the client includes a discussion of pose, background, where the portrait will hang, and other needs and expectations of the client. Photos are taken*. The artist prefers to work from a combination of live sittings and his photos and can work from photos only, if the client prefers. At least one sitting may sometimes be necessary. The pose will be chosen from the photos. Delivery of the finished painting could take up to 3 months. A 50% deposit is due before painting is begun. There is a 20% discount for each additional subject in the same painting. Framing, travel, lodging expenses, and shipping are paid by the client. All paintings are executed on stretched or mounted Belgian linen unless otherwise requested.

*All photos taken by the artist, preliminary sketches, or studies remain the property of the artist and the artist reserves the copyrights to these as well as the finished work.

Landscape commissions are quoted on an individual basis by size. Please contact artist.
